An important step forward for the management of protected areas!
This Monday, October 5, our team and the associated consulting firm Photosintesis presented the Management Plan for the Los Molles Natural Reservean area protected in perpetuity through a DRC agreement with Fundación Tierra Austral.
After months of working together with the owners, Fundación Tierra Austral and Photosintesis unveiled the main pillars of this plan, which sets out the permitted activities and timelines within the reserve as a roadmap.
The goal is to mitigate and control the main threats identified and to improve the health of the ecosystems, in order to ensure the conservation of the reserve’s rich flora and fauna biodiversity.
At the event, the Wildfire First Response Plan was also shared with the estate’s workers, precisely with the aim of advancing protection against this type of risk.
Located in the mountain formations of the Coastal Range, this 376-hectare area is highly significant ecologically for the region, as it lies within the Peñuelas-La Campana biological corridorand forms part of the UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve.
