Looking ahead: Tierra Austral’s Board of Directors and Staff Charts its Future with a new Strategic Plan

At Fundación Tierra Austral, we are strongly committed to taking every step necessary to being a dynamic, effective land conservation organization, now and in the future. With this in mind, the Board and staff have spent the past several months creating a new Five-year Strategic Plan.

Recently, we met at our office for an intensive, focused and productive strategic planning retreat. The retreat marked the culmination of a series of all-day meetings at which the staff produced a draft Strategic Plan for the Board’s consideration. We were led in this work by our strategic planning consultant Ignacio Cespédes.

The strategic planning retreat provided both the Board and the staff with the invaluable opportunity to take stock of the great progress that Tierra Austral has made since we drafted our previous plan in 2020, to reflect on the opportunities, challenges and accomplishment of the past five years, and most of all, to formulate a set of ambitious but realistic goals that will chart our course for the future. We have emerged from the retreat with a set of truly compelling goals that have been produced with a combination of the staff’s on-the-ground experience, and the Board’s wisdom and vision. And we’re pleased to report that the entire draft plan continues to articulate Tierra Austral’s steadfast commitment to protecting Chile’s extraordinary natural heritage. We look forward to sharing a summary of the plan as soon as it is completed. It will provide a roadmap that will guide Tierra Austral into an exciting and impactful future.
