Coming together for Nature Conservation

Workshop: “A Seed for In Situ Conservation.

Members of the Tierra Austal staff team attended an important workshop called “A Seed for In Situ Conservation, which was organized by the Fundación Flora Nativa Chilena, junto a Fundación Panguein collaboration with Fundación Pangue.

The event, which was held at the Vivero Pumahuida, brought together landowners, experts, and stakeholders working on private lands conservation projects in Chile. The participants exchanged their experiences, opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned in protecting Chile’s natural heritage. The meeting’s special focus was on “in situ” conservation, meaning the preservation of species, ecosystems, and biodiversity in their natural habitats. Among the speakers were Victoria Alonso, Executive Director of Tierra Austral, and Fernanda Romero, Director of Así Conserva Chile and coordinator of the Reserva Natural Altos de Cantillana. Both shared valuable insights into the current opportunities and challenges that conservation leaders and NGOs are addressing as they advance private lands conservation throughout Chile.
